Microsoft Teams, from one room
Several microphones into one Teams call, on a Mac.
Teams accepts exactly one microphone — so a room fights over the laptop's. Muxvox appears in Teams' audio settings as an ordinary microphone, but behind it sits every phone in the room, mixed live on the Mac.
The exact setup
- Install Muxvox Desktop on the Mac that joins the call, and click “Install audio driver” when it offers (one password prompt).
- Everyone in the room installs the free Muxvox app and taps the room's name — the host approves each phone once.
- In your meeting app's audio settings, pick Muxvox Microphone as the microphone and Muxvox Speaker as the speaker.
That's all of it. The meeting still shows one participant for the room; each person just has a microphone within arm's reach. Audio stays on your Wi-Fi, encrypted — details in the security overview.
Nothing Teams-specific to configure
Muxvox is a standard macOS audio device, so Teams treats it like any microphone — the same goes for Zoom, Meet, Webex, Slack huddles, OBS, or anything else with an input picker. No plug-ins, no Teams admin settings, no IT ticket for the meeting itself (though your Wi-Fi may need a nod — see network requirements).
Personal is free for two phones, no account. The phone apps are free on the App Store and Google Play.
