Zoom, from one room
Use multiple phones as microphones in one Zoom call.
Zoom hears whoever sits near the laptop, and loses whoever doesn't. Muxvox turns each phone on the table into a microphone for the same Zoom participant — no extra tiles, no one dialing in twice, nothing to buy.
The exact setup
- Install Muxvox Desktop on the Mac that joins the call, and click “Install audio driver” when it offers (one password prompt).
- Everyone in the room installs the free Muxvox app and taps the room's name — the host approves each phone once.
- In your meeting app's audio settings, pick Muxvox Microphone as the microphone and Muxvox Speaker as the speaker.
That's all of it. The meeting still shows one participant for the room; each person just has a microphone within arm's reach. Audio stays on your Wi-Fi, encrypted — details in the security overview.
Why not just have everyone join the Zoom?
Because a room of people joining individually creates chaos: six tiles, six echo sources, everyone muting and unmuting. Muxvox mixes the phones before Zoom sees them, so the meeting keeps one clean participant per room, with same-room echo handled by the mixer rather than by discipline.
Personal is free for two phones, no account. The phone apps are free on the App Store and Google Play.
